Follow in the footsteps of the Spanish explorer Francisco Orellana in this epic voyage from the Andes to the Amazon. From Quito we head La Casa Del Suizo, our sister Lodge on the Upper Napo, before a 6-hour canoe to Sacha Lodge, where we spend three nights. All transfers included.
Arrival to Quito.
Half day city tour of Quito. Overnight at the Hotel in Quito
Journey to Sacha Lodge. You will arrive with time to settle in, bird-watch, swim, or take a walk under the canopy before dinner.
Activities in Sacha Lodge in the morning, after lunch, and in the evening.
Journey to Hacienda Piman. After lunch arrive to enjoy the grounds, trekking options around the hacienda with astonishing views or just relax on the swimming pool, before dinner.
Visit Salinas de Ibarra, including Mascarillas and the local salt museum, followed by lunch at a local restaurant serving regional favourites. Board the train for the ride back up the Andes to Ibarra. Overnight at Hacienda Piman.
Note: The train operates on fixed days. In case we cannot fit the excursion on a train day we will offer an alternative excursion to El Ángel Reserve where we will explore its strange and beautiful plants, forests and lakes. Lunch in the area and return to the hacienda at the end of the day.
Visit the Otavalo indigenous craft market, Cotacachi town, a rose plantation and enjoy lunch. Return trip to Quito, arriving around 5 pm. Overnight at the Hotel in Quito
Transfer out to the airport for your flight back home. End of our services
